Faye has been a practicing transdisciplinary facilitator and producer since 2004. Prior to that she worked on citizen journalism projects which naturally combined sciences, social sciences and arts throughout her school years, travelling between Australia, USA and Asia, reporting on lived experience of natural disasters, global warming and their social and personal impact. After completing her Bachelor degree in humanities and film, she began providing University executive research support services, including grants development, to multiple interdisciplinary teams across a range of disciplines, industries, events and institutions.

Here, she developed a passion for engaging in and cultivating integration and collaboration across boundaries, and quickly honed her skills in a number of roles such as policy researcher at the uniquely transdisciplinary environment that is the Australian Parliamentary Research Branch, Canberra. This led to an interest in policy research and how it could inform policy making in government.

In 2008, Faye completed her Masters degree in information management specializing in qualitative research, business research and knowledge management. Over ten years, she convened, mentored and supervised many graduate students’ professional and research projects in several information studies subjects at two universities.

Faye completed her PhD in 2014, where she developed an original interdisciplinary knowledge ecosystem model for designing human-centered information and knowledge services for collaborative endeavours. Her PhD launched several new publications in leading international information science, user experience design and higher education journals. Her research has informed government policy in research and industry innovation, reports by UNESCO and global media articles in The Conversation.

In 2018, Faye gathered her courage and took on a second career as a documentary film producer and became a professional member of the International Documentary Association in Los Angeles. She is currently developing her first feature documentary The Social Media Paradox sponsored by the IDA. In 2016, she released her first short documentary Imaginative Storytelling Experiences.

Faye is currently writing her first book Producing Shared Understanding for Digital and Social Innovation to be published in 2020 by Palgrave Macmillan.
